What is the process for CPR under these circumstances?

I studied at UCL from 2021 - 2023, I failed first year twice.

Long story short I have always suffered with bad mental health issues, and had some heavy personal issues. During my second attempt I was doing well until I got covid for a second time, and just fell apart after that. During that year my GP suggested I may have ADHD.

In September 2024 I was formally diagnosed with ADHD, and I am waiting medication. I currently use online resources to manage it and I have a full time job.

I want to study at University again, however even after reading resources online I am unsure on the process to get CPR. Can someone talk me through the process please?

Do I need to apply for a uni first, and attempt to get CPR while I am waiting? Or can I just apply for CPR now?

I failed first year twice, a big part of this was undiagnosed ADHD that is now diagnosed, my GP at uni actually noticed I probably had it.

I would like to apply for CPR, and know that it is through SFE and roughly how to do it. However, I am not clear on whether I need to apply for University first, or if I can just go ahead and send everything I need to SFE like evidence etc, beforehand.

Hi there,

You can apply for either the CPR or the university first. This is up to you. Once the evidence is processed you will be notified via email confirming if you have been granted the extra year of funding. If you're looking to study in the 25/26 academic year then full time applications are expected to go live in the spring of next year for you to apply on. Thanks, Jason

Sorry I misunderstand your reply.

Can't I apply for CPR now, because the deadline for applying to Uni is around the middle of January?
Hi Liman1897,

You can't apply for CPR now as 25/26 applications won't open until around Spring 2025.

Thanks,
Calum

Thank you I understand now.

Does CPR mean I can get some years I did written off due to my circumstances so I won't have to pay, or will they still add up along with any more years I do if I get CPR?

Hi there,

With CPR you apply for it for one Academic Year only. If you were unsuccessful in year 1 twice, you'd apply for it for one of the years you failed. If it's accepted, you'd get Tuition Fees for all the years of your new course.

If you are unsuccessful with passing a year on the new course, you'd need CPR again to get Tuition Fees for the repeat.

Thanks,
Ross
