Hi @unaveragestudent

It's great to hear you are looking at studying engineering at university in the future!😃

Do you know what type of engineering specifically you would like to explore at undergraduate level?

At the University of Essex our School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering offers lots of exciting undergraduate engineering courses such as: BEng Communications Engineering, BEng Computer Systems Engineering, BEng Computers with Electronics, BEng Electronic Engineering, BEng Mechatronic Systems, BEng Robotic Engineering and BEng Neural Engineering with Psychology.👀

Our entry requirements vary from course to course, but for example, if you were looking to apply for our BEng in Electronic Engineering at Essex we would look for you to have obtained BBB - BBC in your A Levels or 120 - 112 UCAS tariff points from a minimum of 2 full A-levels. This would need to include a B in Mathematics or Further Mathematics.✍️

For our engineering degrees at Essex, you do not need A Level Physics but it may be a requirement at other universities, so it is always worthwhile looking into entry requirements prior to applying🤓

You can explore our exciting and experimental engineering degrees at Essex on our webpages here- Undergraduate study in the School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering | University of Essex

If you have any questions about studying at Essex or our courses, please do let me know!

Best of luck in whatever you choose!☘️

You'll get into chemical and materials (subject to achieving high enough grades) but the lack of physics will limit your options for the other disciplines.

A lot of really good unis accept Maths and at least one of Physics, Chemistry or Further Maths so there is still a lot of really good options. You are limited but not by a lot and since you can only really apply to 5 unis you should be okay.

Why not just study finance if you want to go into finance…

The degree itself won’t be a barrier but financial graduate schemes will still expect you to be knowledgeable on principles of finance & accounting for a graduate role.
