Tips on writing a personal statement to apply for mental health nursing

You need to include: work experience, related academic learning, and technical medical knowledge. For example, if you have done work experience in a GP surgery, write what you have observed (ECG's, blood pressure monitoring, vaccinations, ect)
Hi Annie,

The best thing to do when writing personal statements is to include: Why your interested in Nursing, is their anything that's happening in health care that's taken your interest?

Show that you understand the role - Demonstrate some understanding of responsibilities of being a mental health Nurse, why have you applied to study mental health nursing as opposed to adult, child or learning disability nursing, or psychology?

Any transferable skills?: Highlight transferable skills gained from work experience, explaining how you have gained the skills and attributes expected of a mental health nurse.

Work experience: Explain how your past work experiences have equipped you with the necessary skills to progress as a nurse. Demonstrate a commitment to delivering kind, compassionate and competent care.

Hope this helps! Good luck With your application!
