Stationery for Biology

Mature student applicant for the 2025 cycle, Biological Sciences, Dundee centre advised I put in an application before the equal consideration deadline even though my school leaving qualifications are half a decade old, I was prepping for resits to account for the lost time.

If I do get an unconditional, drawing up a list of stationery and accessories I already have:

Laptop (obviously), full Microsoft Office package, I’ve added Zerene Stacker as I own a microscope and camera, but that’s for private curiosity/general interest.
Pencils, sharpener, Biros and fountain pens with black, red and blue ink
Tippex mice, rubbers
Highlighters in 4 colours
Scientific calculator to Higher/AS Level standard
Graph paper
Squared and lined jotters
Set of drawing instruments
Dictaphone I know permission is needed to record lectures. Smartphones can but they’re also a distraction.
Higher/AH notes for all entry subjects
Ring binders
Good sturdy canvas (leather weighs a tonne even empty) shoulder bag

Will this cover everything? I don’t know if a graphing calculator will be needed, no intention of specialising in bioinformatics or mathematical biology Plant Sciences is the plan.
I'm in first year biology at a different university and to be brutaly honest I haven't used most of the things you have listed. My GCSE standard calculator is more than sufficient and most graphs are done on Excel or similar. I think it would be unlikely that you would be allowed to record lectures unless you have a disability or other circumstance that may mean you need to record lectures. I'm pretty sure you have most things that you will need.

Nothing brutal about your honesty I thank you for it. No particular skin off my nose as I own these items already, but I will leave off the bulkier.

THANK YOU (I can’t get bold text at the moment) re. dictaphone. I included it as I am diagnosed Asperger’s checking with Disability Services but I doubt it would be sufficient reason. I want to study as well as possible but would hate to think I got an unfair advantage by exaggerating a neurochemical hobble into a full blown disability.

I am diagnosed with autism and I am allowed to record lectures so if you register with disability there is a good chance you would be able to. Have you looked into DSA at all?

Yes, and almost certainly eligible—I’m an odd fish, always hesitant to claim support as I was Dux/top of the year in my S6, but I will find it very useful. I‘m looking through the disability flier from Open Day and will ask about recording lectures as soon as/if I get the UCAS offer.
