Undergraduate course: Marketing or Fashion marketing

URGENT:

I have to send off my personal statement next monday and I am still conflicted to which degree would be better.

I want to do marketing in the fashion industry after I finish university.

Is marketing safer to take? I find that there aren’t as many universities which do fashion marketing degrees but I find the content more interesting than general marketing degrees.

Please give me advice!! :-)

Hi👋

My advice is to study the subject you'll enjoy the most. You're more likely to do well, have a better student experience, and you'll have the opportunity to study with like-minded people.

Regarding your personal statement, you could frame it in a way which expresses your passion for marketing with a particular focus on fashion marketing, enabling you to cover both courses. It will buy you more time to explore your options by attending Open Days or Applicant Days before making your final decision.

Whatever course you decide on, you'll develop many of the same skills and knowledge, allowing you to keep your career options open. On our course pages, you can view videos which tell you a bit about each course so you'll get a better understanding of the differences between each of the subjects. It will undoubtedly vary depending on the university you apply to but, it will give you an idea of how they differentiate.

I wish you the very best with your application during this exciting time.

-Leanne 😊
