What universities could I get into for business with CCE A-levels??

I have an unconditional offer from Oxford Brookes University for business, but I’m unsure if it’s the right fit for me. I’m from the North and have never been to Oxford, so I’m worried about fitting in.

Here’s a bit about my grades and experience:
A-levels C in Psychology, E in Biology, B in my EPQ.
GCSEs 8-6 with one 5 in French.
Work
experience HSBC in finance, and various finance and film placements.

I’m interested in business/management, but open to other related fields. I’d prefer universities in the South but am open to others. Would I be able to get into any Russell Group or other universities with a foundation or contextual course? Any advice would be great

Thank you

You might obtain more answers by asking about Brookes in the Brookes sub-forum. This is the sub-forum for the somewhat bigger university down the hill. I don't think that coming from the North of England would be an issue at Brookes (or indeed at Oxford). It is sometimes jokingly suggested that Brookes has posher students than Oxford, but there are students from many backgrounds at both universities, and social mingling between the two student groups in bars and clubs along the Cowley Road in East Oxford.

Oxford is a socially and ethnically diverse city. It is mostly affluent, but less affluent on the east side. The economy is based on the two universities, associated tech businesses, tourism associated with the University of Oxford and the Harry Potter films (college and university buildings were used as filming locations), and the large car factory at Cowley. East Oxford has a sizeable population of people of South Asian heritage.

You would need to check individual university websites to see what Foundation courses they offer, and also what contextual offers they may make. Even with contextual offers, I think that you might be unlikely to obtain a place at a Russell Group university with grades of CCE; so you would need to find a Foundation course and meet its eligibility criteria.

Good luck!

I will be applying for Law at Oxford, LSE, UCL, KCL and SOAS. 😉

You might still be offered a place on the Foundation Year at SOAS:

SOAS offers Business, Management, Economics & Law with Foundation Year as well as Social Sciences, Arts & Humanities with Foundation Year.

You might still be able to get in if you e-mail and phone them or even better visit them on the Open Day perhaps? 😉

I have no opinion on whether Oxford Brookes is good, bad, or in between. I lack information sufficient to form such an opinion. I hear that people have fun there.

Nottingham has a generally good reputation but I have no first hand knowledge of that university.

You have asked about Oxford Brookes in a sub forum which is about a completely different university.

You appeared to misread my comments about the City of Oxford as an endorsement of Oxford Brookes, which those comments manifestly were not. Those comments were simply intended to address your concern about coming from the North and not bring familiar with Oxford.

If you wish to enquire about Oxford Brookes, why not do so in the Oxford Brookes sub forum? Also, being rude to people who try to help you is never a good look.

My comment makes perfect sense. I am not respondible for anyone else's deficiencies in the comprehension of clear written English.

When was there a deficiency in understanding English. It’s comprehensively general stuff as if it’s from Wikipedia…

So do you also now have a Foundation Year offer from Nottingham? Or Nottingham Trent? 😧

I thought you would be better suited to SOAS London? 😉

Moliere's bourgeois gentilhomme was astonished to be told that he'd been speaking prose all his life; but I'm not sure what "normal sentences" are, other than sentences with a subject, a verb, and an object.

Nope. If you wish to obtain a job as a censor, move to Iran or China.
