Applying for Midwifery bsc hons

I am applying to midwifery and the Uni I really want to go to says I need an "A Level Biological Science at a minimum grade B and excluding General Studies, AS Levels and the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). If you are studying a Science A Level, the endorsement for practical work is essential and a requirement for entry to our degree courses. Alternatively, a Distinction in BTEC Subsidiary Diploma/Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Health and Social Care is acceptable. Double graded qualifications will be counted as 2 of the 3 qualifications."

I am currently studying Psychology and Double Health and Social. Based on the information above, is it possible that my application will still be considered? Do I still have a chance with this Uni? Other Unis I have looked at consider and accept sciences such as psychology, so I am also applying to those as a backup. I need some advice, does anyone think its worth applying to this Uni?

It is huddersfield Uni, I think for nursing it is not required to have a biological science but for midwifery I think most Unis require a biological one 🥲. I think I will still apply and maybe I can get in, if not I still have my back ups. Thanks for your help <3

Hi there

For midwifery you'll need a minimum of either a science subject or Biology, you will find that some universities requirements are just a science subject, then there's some asking for Biology specifically and then you'll get some universities not asking for any science subjects. It varies from university to university.

I would suggest that you perhaps give your chosen universities a quick call and ask them about what they are asking for entry requirements for there midwifery degree courses.

Going on what you have said you have you should be fine.

The three main grades you need for midwifery is English, Maths and Biology.

There's nothing wrong with applying for midwifery this year and see what happens in regards of you getting a interview.

Before you apply, email the admissions department at Huddersfield uni stating the qualifications you are taking and ask if you meet the requirements for the course. It is best to get a reply in writing.
