I'm stressed about what to choose - economics or further maths

Hi there.

I have to pick my A-Level choices soon. I want to do computer science at university. I have 3 a levels I want to do. These are Computer science, maths and physics. I have to choose a 4th. What should I choose as I am unsure. I am aware further maths is extremely difficult. I am predicted and will probably get a 9 in GCSE maths and probably a 7/8 in GCSE Further Maths.

Should I do economics or further maths at a level.

I know further maths can be helpful for computer science, but it is hard.

ECONOMICS OR FURTHER MATHS A LEVEL

Id recommend further maths because whilst it is hard it’s the best subject to be taking if you want to pursue top unis especially if you’re aiming for a top uni. As you’re doing level 2 further maths the step up to a level maths might be more manageable too so taking further maths for a level could be a great option. Also doing 4 including further maths is the best combination to do as a 4 so i would choose it over economics.

Further maths is required for CS at the top echelon of Unis (think UCL, imperial, Oxbridge etc). If you're not aiming for that level then you don't need to take FM.
