I am currently a y12 student (doing art & design, film studies and history) and have an interest in 2d animation. Does anyone have any reccomendations for animation courses to look into? Preferably ones that provide programs to work on and don't use ai (T_T)
2D animation is a fantastic choice, given the subjects you are currently studying. At the Cardiff Campus at the University of South Wales, we provide a degree in Animation (2D and Stop Motion)🖥️
It's a ScreenSkills accredited course, preparing you for a career as a director, producer or studio artist. It's in the Top 10 in the world, recognised for production excellence in 2D Animation by The Rookies, a global industry-endorsed community.
Through the course you would get hands-on experience through studio visits, live briefs and paid internships with top UK animation studios.
USW alumni have won festivals, Oscars, and BAFTA’s and work in roles at top studios such as Studio AKA, A Productions, Cloth Cat Animation, and Golden Wolf. By specialising in stop motion, you could find roles at Aardman Animation or Disney. You could even work with film-makers like Wes Anderson.
You can learn more about the course by visiting our website, where you can also book onto an Open Day.
