LSE Accounting and Finance

Hello, I am planning to apply A&F in LSE.

I achieved two 9s and three 8s in my GCSEs, including Science and Maths, but got 4s in English Language and Literature as I completed my GCSEs in just one year due to circumstances. My IELTS score is 7 overall (8.5 in Listening, 6 in Writing). My predicted grades are A*AA in Maths, Economics, and Biology, and I have already achieved an A in A-level Chinese. Do you think I’m a competitive candidate for LSE as an international students ?

Your strong academic profile is promising, but LSE's high standards may require higher English proficiency and addressing GCSE English grades. Consider explaining your unique circumstances in your application.

Ahhh thank you so much! I am panicking now because I saw people got rejected with A*AA and all 8s in their GCSE. Do you think I will have advantage as an international student ?

As an international student, you may have a unique advantage in showcasing diversity and your circumstances, but LSE remains highly competitive. Focus on explaining your strengths, contextualizing your GCSEs, and highlighting your achievements in your application.

Hey, I got A*AA in math, economics, and psychology. I got a* in extended math, 2a, 4b and unfortunately 1d in english language. I have taken ielts and I meet the requirement. Unlike him, Im applying to KCL. Would i have fair chance?

Since 70% of LSE undergraduate intake is international, you might have a chance but you should have a better chance at KCL, QMUL and City here in London as well. 🙂

You have a better chance at KCL and QMUL and should easily get into CityLondon or SOAS London. 🙂

Can anyone answer my question please, in his/her case, the subscore in writing does not meet LSE requirement, which should be 7 in all band, will their application be an auto rejection? Similar to my case, I'm applying to KCL and manchester, requiring 6.5 in all band. However, I got one field at 5.5, will unis just reject me because of it?

My prediction is now 3A*, is that competitive enough for KCL and manchester?

Yes, even LSE, Oxford, Cambridge and Durham too. 😉
