This or that??

I need help pleasseee. I live in switzerland and want to start studying. It will me with the open university. Now i don't know if i should do psychology or interior design. Psychology takes sooooo long until i can actually work in switzerland but interior design takes a lot more to be able to earn more money and is less of a nice academic degree. I really don't know how to make such a big decision also because it is a lot of money. Pls help

Hi! Personally, interior design is not a necessary decree for a successful carrer path in it, and I think you would benefit more from something like psychology. However if you are not super sure you want to study something that requires so much work I wouldn’t as you won’t end up doing super well.

what job exactly do you want?

if you want to become a psychologist, then obviously psychology despite the workload [question - have you done psychology examinations before, like A level?]
if you are worried about the workload, maybe it is better to avoid medical subs completely as they are very very content heavy

and as offshore-cauldro said, an interior design degree might not be necessary to pursue a career in that field
i was also interested in that for some time, and there are many websites online where you can design rooms for free and courses [like coursera] that you can take
but if interior design is your chosen career then obviously having the degree will give you an advantage

Hi there,
I hope you're well. I'm Charlotte a Graphic Design student at Norwich University of the Arts and know how scary it can be trying to decide on the right course for you.

My top tip would be to look at various university websites and research the course content for their courses. This will provide an insight into what the course will be like, what it offers and where it takes you after you've finished your degree. For example, ours can be found here. Requesting prospectuses is also a great way to research into the universities and courses that you're considering.

Likewise, you can also chat to any student ambassadors from various courses across various universities via the UniBuddy platform, where they will be happy to answer any questions that you may have regarding the courses.

Happy to answer any questions that you may have, and good luck in choosing a uni and course that is best for you!
