Sussex or Brighton uni for journalism?

I'm planning to take a journalism course and Sussex & Brighton seem to be my top choices at the moment but I'm not sure which one to pick as my firm option? Any help or advice?
Are either of them accredited?

Hi @Amelialia

Thanks for considering the University of Brighton.

Our Journalism BA(Hons) course is Accredited by the National Council for the Training of Journalists, which means your degree will be recognised by the media industry as meeting high professional standards 😊

In the National Student Survey 2024 92% of our students are positive about the academic support on this course

We have a Newsroom with live news and sports feeds gives you authentic real-life journalistic experience and sound, filming and editing equipment to familiarise you with the latest technology and ensure that you graduate with the technical skills essential for your media career.

There will be Real-world reporting opportunities - our students have interviewed MPs in the House of Commons and reported from court trials and council hearings and we have close links with the media industry which means we organise field trips to places such as the Sky News newsroom.

Some of our previous journalism students have gone on to work as:

Sports writer at Daily Mail Online

A broadcast assistant at Radio5Live

News reporter for Cambridge Evening

Newsnews editor at Isle of Wight Radio

Content and social media manager at Virgin StartUp

And much more!

We have an open day coming up this weekend - Saturday 23 November 2024 on our Moulsecoomb campus for this course. I would recommend booking your place an attending to find our more about the course through our taster, tour and subject talk for Journalism. You will get the opportunity to talk to course leaders and current students and have a look around the campus, facilities and accommodation.

If you aren't able to make this open day we'll have more coming up in June next year.

I hope this is helpful.

Let me know if you have any questions! 🙂
