I can't find a good Art foundation course 🥲

I've been looking at foundation courses (because UAL requires one) but I've been looking for ones closer to Bedfordshire. Im so stuck and lost, everything is either really far away or just does level 2 courses like a 6th form or college. Can anyone recommend a good place to do a year 14 foundation course? 🙏
Thank you!

Firstly, plenty of UAL courses don't require one. What subject do you want to study? And why do you want to go to UAL specifically?

Whereabouts in Bedfordshire do you live?

I've been looking at a few different uni's but UAL was one of my favourites that I've looked at. Lots of the recommend Art uni's require a foundation course, (it says on the website and the staff at UAL confirmed this on the open day) because it helps to build up from A-levels to undergraduate level.
I'm hoping to do an art foundation and after a year, fine art in university. I'm definitely not limiting myself to just UAL central St Martins and I've looked at Brighton ect. but UAL is my top option. I live near dunstable/ Luton and I'm hoping to find somewhere to do my foundation course that isn't really far away but is a bit more interesting than Luton university.

North Herts College in Hitchin might be worth a look. Or if you're willing to go into London https://www.wmcollege.ac.uk/courses/foundation-art-and-design-diploma/

Thank you for the help, i've had a look at both websites for Bedford and Hitchin and i've actually been recommended Barnfield as well. The only issue with Hitchin is that i think it only offers a level 2 art course (an A-level) which i'm currently doing now.
A levels are level 3. Level 2 is equivalent to GCSE grades 4-9 (level 1 is GCSE grades 1-3)
Hello,
We're glad to hear that you would like to study with us and look forward to hopefully welcoming you soon. Regarding the foundation course, we offer a range of foundation courses that you can find on our website. The specialist option is for you to develop your skills and build a portfolio for the specific course you would like to apply to. Whereas we also offer a diagnostic foundation course where you can spend time exploring different specialisms and build your confidence to narrow down your options. Check out our website for more details on these options.

Also, if you do already know which course you would like to study at undergraduate level, I would advise checking our website for the entry requirements as not all courses require a foundation or even a portfolio such as fashion journalism and content creation at London College of Fashion.

I hope this has helped!

Do you want a free (ie state) art foundation course?

Hi!

Here at Kingston School of Art, we offer a one year foundation course which covers a variety of curriculums. These include, fine art, photography, fashion, visual communication, and more. This is a great course to learn more skills while easing you into university life. Also, studying at Kingston provides you access to all of our workshop facilities- which are amazing! You can use these for personal or uni based projects- including the 3D workshop, moving image, digital media and print making.

We are located in Greater London, which could help to commute!

I hope this helped and please let me know if you have any questions
