Failing placement for my CS course

Due to circumstances I am likely to fail my placement year for computer science course between second and third year.

I feel extremely stressed and depressed, don't know what to do or how to deal with whatever is coming. Feeling that I have wronged so many people who gave support to me, and that I'm useless and stupid to have my life thrown away.

Right now I'm currently still in placement but will likely to be terminated shortly, I am so lost to life now and don't know what to do. Any suggestion and advice is appreciated, thanks in advance.

Why will you fail your placement? You are not useless and stupid, there is always a way forward with every situation

I suspect that no-one will be able to provide any constructive advice without knowing why you "will likely to be terminated shortly" / are "likely to fail my placement year".

Have you checked your university's academic regulations to see what they say about the placement year's impact on your overall degree?

Let's just say I'm not really uncomfortable discussing it here, even thinking about it makes me sick. let's just say it's not performance issue but something else. I have committed to my course and placement, but this time it just feels there is no way out.

The reason for termination is due to a remark of mine. I'm sorry but that's all I can say for now.

I have gone through the regulations that I could get my hands on and apparently there is nothing about the impact of failing of the placement on overall degree.

Fair enough. Let's ignore the reason for you believing you're "likely to be terminated shortly" and focus on the impact.

Is a placement year a mandatory component of your course? Do you need to "pass" the placement year in order to be allowed to progress to third year? Is your placement year "graded" at all? Does that grade impact your final degree classification?

Sorry, I posted my reply above before noticing this. So, it sounds like there might be zero impact of you being terminated.

I see that it does say it is an assessed and formal part of my course. But right now I don't see how it is assessed or anything, the most I had was a meeting with my school-side tutor. And the degree classification is related to the success or not of the placement.

If you'd be comfortable sharing the name of your uni, I'll gladly do some digging to see if I can find any more explicit details as to how the placement year impacts your degree.

Otherwise, I suggest you contact your course leader, personal tutor, or equivalent and try to find out. In fact, you should probably do that anyway.
