sociology help

I'm doing sociology alevel and I got a U in my AS the teacher entered me again the next year for my A2 but didn't enter me for my A2 exam I got an A* what I did was memorise all the Ken Browne book content (very useful) and all the methods in contexts. I don't get how i got an A*. or in my alevel english lit. The teacher doesn't know how to help me everyone understands the content and gets A's and there are those who get straight A's which I'm begging the lord for. But when it comes to the exam and the exam question it's what content to put what the question is asking me. etc.. etc... getting the answer right and getting the grades I deserve. I think it's alot more than that though. I did beliefs in society and crime and deviance and theory and methods, research methods education and methods in context and families and households. She gives us papers and we have to fill in the gaps. I don't know what it is with this subject and can anyone help me revise it's hard but so boring.
