studying vet med at liverpool

Hello if anyone is studying veterinary medicine at Liverpool at the moment I have a few questions.
I was wondering how much animal handling you do in the first 3 years in the city? Is it mainly just small animals in years 1-3 or are there opportunities to handle larger animals and exotics as well? Also, how much time over the year do you spend animal handling?
thank you!

Virtually none tbh. You go over for HACS 3 times in the first term of first year for short sessions handling all the different species. In second year you have 2 exotics handling sessions (rodents and reptiles). In third year you go over once (maybe twice? But think once) to do a clinical exam on a cow and horse. Tbh so far 4th year we've only had a c ouplesessions with live animals so far too. Small animals are actually harder for them to get you to handle because finding a variety of student-friendly dogs isn't too simple without overloading them with 200 students, and for that reason you won't see cats either. But you still have to do your EMS placements so as long as you choose good places which actually get you hands-on not too much is lost.
