What should I do about my personal statement?

Most of the courses I’m applying for are history and ancient history but the university of York do not offer this - just history which is fine but my personal statement is written about history and ancient history does this mean I can’t apply to York because they don’t have an ancient history course?

Also for Edinburgh and Glasgow they call it classics instead of ancient history even though the course content is the same but other unus I’m applying for call it ancient history so what should I refer to the course as in my personal statement?

You don’t necessarily need to explicitly name the course that you are applying to if the themes of the personal statement make it obvious that you are applying to a course in the classical civilisation/ancient history subject area. Universities understand that you may be applying for a course at their university that has a different name at another or are applying to similar courses offered at different universities.
