Warwick or Lancaster?

I've got choices for law universities like Durham and Bristol, but I also have some choices like Sussex and Leicester. However, I am not sure which uni to pick out of these 2: Warwick or Lancaster. Warwick has a better prestige but Lancaster also gives a work placement for a year, but I am not sure whether it would be helpful within the role of getting the part of law I want.

Hi!

Those are some great choices for Law - I would say deciding between two comes down to quite a lot of different factors (where it is in the country, teaching quality, what those degrees can offer you etc.) Once you have answers to those, it will be easier to decide which one you prefer. Lancaster has a lot of benefits when studying law with us, such as a mock court room, links to law firms across the UK and especially in London, and smaller class sizes so tutors can focus on student learning on an individual basis.

In terms of the placement year, all of Lancaster's information can be found here: https://www.lancaster.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/courses/law-placement-year-llb-hons-m104/2025/

It all really depends on what sector you wish to go into after your degree; Lancaster offers many different pathways including Criminal Law and Justice, Commercial Law, Human Rights Law etc. What is it that you are interested in, if you don't mind me asking? If you remain unsure as to whether a placement year would be beneficial to you or not, Lancaster still offers a fantastic 3 year undergraduate Law degree, preparing you for roles like Barrister, Solicitor, Paralegal etc. As you can probably see, there are a lot of different opportunities for roles within this degree, so I don't think you will be limited no matter on the choice you make.

I hope this helps, but let me know if you have any further questions about the degree, or Lancaster itself!
