What do you want for Christmas this year?

Christmas is neeeearly here. In fact, it's the 24th today! Just... November. I haven't started Christmas shopping yet but I know that others have. But whether or not you have, do you know what you want for Christmas? (No, I don't know that either.)
Share below! Maybe I can get some inspiration 🤔 :woo:

The Genetic Book of the Dead: A Darwinian Rêverie. Professor Richard Dawkins’ new book, or a new roll of dissecting instruments.

As for more universally applicable suggestions, there’s always food. Have you ever had a marron glacé? A sort of candied chestnut. Extremely dear but very tasty rare treat. I also like crystallised fruit, which is a little less extortionate.

Practical presents are always welcome with me woollen socks or a scarf or jumper.

I haven’t many living relatives I always buy my mother a small piece of ORTAK silver jewellery or a “Heather Gem”. My late grandfather got tobacco (he smoked a pipe, Revor Plug), my grandmother was a fiend for crystallised ginger and “Hazar Baba” Turkish delight, my late sister got a Japanese book. She could read the language fairly well.

I really rEaLlY REALLY want new books to read! Anything will do at this point 😅😂
I also want the Art Book: Collector's Edition for The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom (just a mere obsession :h:)
And, yes this might be too much to ask but I want a kitten :hide:
Just had a realisation that I also get presents at Christmas and need to think about what I'd like

Ha! Yes, Asperger’s, it goes with the territory. Christmas with us hasn’t really changed since I was a baby, just sadly fewer round the table.

Best wishes in all things, especially that you get something nice if you’re all out of ideas, what about asking for a voucher for a favourite shop, a nice dinner before Christmas or even just drink money for you and your mates (assuming you’re not a teetotaller)?
Okay so I would like:

A 2025 Rupert the Bear annual (I collect them)
A Notre Dame charm for my charm bracelet
Some books
Some Sims 4 expansion packs

I can't really think of anything else

I recently got myself a new phone (because my old one was extremely temperamental) and a couple of weeks ago my husband bought me a walking pad (treadmill type thing). I also bought some new clothes recently.
So those are really my big things out of the way already.

My birthday is 5 days before Christmas, so birthday and Christmas sort of gets mashed into one. I can never remember if I've received something for my birthday, or for Christmas. It all blurs together.

My husband and I share money, so it's basically just me buying my own presents really (although he orders mine and I order his, but it's the same money pot lol).

My parents tend to give me £20 each for my birthday and Christmas, so I'll probably get £80 in total for myself... which will then end up going towards the family Christmas dinner, so I don't really count that as a "me" thing.

Ooh, which Sims 4 expansion packs? I love the game too!

Is your new phone pink?

Haha no it's not pink, it's a Samsung Galaxy S24 which sadly doesn't come in pink.
I've had a couple of pink phones over the years.

I want that new Life and Death expansion back for a start. I like the look of that one!
My Mum was nagging at me to send a list to her my christmas list this week because my parents are out of town about a week before Christmas, which means we've only got a 2 week window to get everything organised :hide:

I asked for books  including a German grammar book - I'm learning German on Duolingo but I could never get my head around the grammar in school and I'm still struggling with it now, even though I'm picking up words quite easily :sigh:

Sequin art and a couple of board games were on there as well 🤞
Oh yea I asked for glasses spray as well because mine is running out, and I'm pretty sure I just acquired a bottle one day and its lasted years. Where do you even get glasses cleaning spray from? :iiam:

Optician’s shops, at least the small private ones, sell it. In a pinch, R.O.R., intended for scientific lenses, will clean glasses but it’s rather dear. I mixed up the bottles one morning as both were on my desk.

As for German grammar, Russon’s Advanced German Course is a wonderful book. 1970s vintage, A* at Higher and AH German largely because of it. I still pull it out for German botany books to unpick the German habit of piling up modals, auxiliaries and participles in a heap at the end of clauses.

I've asked for a new winter coat because mine is falling apart and it has been needed in the last couple of weeks! :snowman:
