Electrical Engineering Universities

I'm deciding which university to apply for out of the following 6: Bath, Southampton, Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter and Nottingham. Do all of these unis have a similar prestige/reputation for electrical engineering or will some of them look better than others to an employer?

What are you grades vs entry requirements?
Which is your Insurance choice?
Do any of these courses have a placement year?
Have you been to any of the Open Days?

They'll all hold essentially the same weight, so choose which ever one meets the most of your other criteria.

Hi there,

So glad to hear you are considering Cardiff! Im a student here and love it.
Electrical and electronic engineering at Cardiff is said to be "the number one course in the UK for Electrical and Electronic Engineering as voted in The Guardian University Guide 2024", and it is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology, Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE), Chartered Institute of Highways and Transportation (CIHT), Institute of Highway Engineers (IHE). These are all positives that will be looked favourably upon, and something to consider when choosing a course. I am doing an accredited degree now in my field and have noticed many people talking about the importance of it moving forward, especially to become chartered.

Hope this is helpful, and if you have any other questions let me know!
