The Student Room Group

A level help very crucial please!!

Hey guys,

I am in Year 12 studying bio, chem and maths which is all edexcel. I really want all A stars but during independent lessons I find it hard to study and barely get anything done as the common room is so noisy (i have about 4 hours independent study a day max). Please tell me what I should do about this and what work I should get done during these sessions to get top grades as I don't want to drop after achieving such good gcses, and even the teachers are bad (some as they skip so many sub topics), thank you.

Is there anywhere else you can study?

Is there another place to study? E.g. the library

I could study in the library because the canteen usually has Year 13s, but it's a bit difficult since I have to register in the common room and usually a sheet is passed around and the common room is so small like it's so difficult to study and so noisy, some people wear headphones/airpods but I don't know if I should get them if they are effective? So then I sadly have to cram everything at home and I can't finish it off at home.

i 100% recommend headphones, they’re the only way i can deal with noise when i’m tryna revise 😭 you don’t need an expensive pair with a noise cancelling feature, just any ordinary ones are fine  actual headphones are way better than earphones since they naturally muffle a bit of noise anyway, slap on a good playlist and you can easily ignore any other noise
