Electrical Engineering Job Market

Are there any electrical engineers who could describe what the current job market is like in the UK in their field? I'm deciding if I should do a placement year in my degree but I feel like after you get your first job as an electrical engineer the placement year becomes useless.
Can any of you speak on your difficulties (or hopefully ease) of getting a job as an electrical engineer?

Job market is currently quite good for competent graduates. The graduate market is very competitive, but strong candidates are obvious and quite appealing, tend to get multiple offers with very good companies average graduates it’s always quite tough due to high volume of competition.

A placement year will definitely help build your competencies, give you tangible examples to demonstrate to other employers & teaches you what you want from a professional employer.

I recommend placement years as you only launch a career once, so you want to get it right, but they are not essential.
