Upcoming Exhibitions to Visit this Winter Break

Winter is here and the holidays are just around the corner! Here are a few exhibitions you might want to check out during the winter break

Serpentine Gallery: The Call
Imagine an immersive audio experience that explores new cultural, legal and technical rituals in this age of AI. The Call is a collaborative project by artists Holly Herndon and Mat Dryhurst that builds on the idea of AI as a tool for coordination and communication, akin to traditional singing practices. The result? a songbook of hymns and exercises to train choral AI models, recording 15 community choirs across the UK :h:. The resulting immersive installation at Serpentine North uses spatial audio to activate the space, offering a new model for collective human creation in the digital age.

Japan House London: Looks Delicious!
Nestled along Kensington High Street, Japan House London showcases a fascinating exhibition celebrating Japanese craftsmanship and design. This time the focus is on Japan's mouth watering food replica culture!
This exhibition takes visitors on a journey through Japan's highly realistic food replicas displayed outside restaurants. It explores the craft's history, materials, and processes, showcasing the future potential of these models. The exhibit features replicas representing all 47 Japanese prefectures, offering a unique insight into Japan's culinary culture and the artistry behind these life-like food models.

Tate Britain: Lee Miller
Tate Britain’s extensive retrospective celebrates Lee Miller as a key 20th-century artistic figure. Initially a model, Lee Miller transitioned to photography, influencing avant-garde scenes in New York, Paris, London, and Cairo. The exhibition highlights her work in surrealism, fashion, and war photography, as well as lesser-known images of Egypt in the 1930s. Through 250 prints, the exhibit reveals Miller's poetic vision and independent spirit.
