UoS study spaces

Hi all,

Does anyone have any recommended study spaces at University of Southampton? I like to study there a lot on my own. Also, are there areas where it's also OK to eat? I often bring my own lunch

what course are you taking/applying for?
Maybe the Hartley Library, National Oceanography Centre Southampton Library, Student Union building, Southampton Common
The avenue campus has some really nice spaces around the courtyard that you can eat and drink in

Hi,

On Highfield Campus, there are lots of studying spaces which allow you to eat - Hartley Library (you are allowed to eat on the lower levels), Building 100 and Student Union building. Most academic buildings also have spaces to study within them.

Alternatively, you can go to Avenue Campus which has alot of study spaces. The Sir James Matthew Building, the city centre campus which opened last year, has lots of study space on the ground floor.

There is also the National Oceanographic library (however, this is quite far, if you are not studying on that campus).

Hope this helps,
