Newcastle Flying Start - HELP

I’ve applied to the Flying Start degree at Newcastle university (Business Accounting and Finance with placements) however upon checking I’ve realised I don’t meet the GCSE entry requirements for English but idk if they’ve changed (unlikely) or I just missed it completely on the website.

I got a 5 in English Language and Literature however I was only one mark off a grade 6 which is what they need.

I did have extenuating circumstances during GCSEs however these are not mentioned on my UCAS form.

Is this grounds for an automatic rejection? Or will I still be considered.

I’m also over the 2 week period to substitute it for another option.

Is there anything I can do I’m very worried.
