Studying in the UK after a working holiday visa

Hi,

I’m coming to the end of a 3 year Working Holiday Visa in Australia and wanted to back to university when I got home (am from the UK originally) to study nursing, but am confused by what ‘ordinarily resident’ means in my context? I’ve lived in Australia since 2022 and have only been home once to visit, but a working holiday visa is by definition temporary, so would I still qualify for student finance?
Hi there. If you don't have the 3 years residency in the UK, you have to provide evidence to show your break was of a temporary nature. Acceptable Evidence

A letter from the employer on headed paper confirming temporary employment including dates

A contract from the employer that clearly shows the employment is of a temporary nature

Temporary visas or work permits

Where evidence has been requested to show that you maintained a connection to the UK documents such as bank statements showing regular UK transactions and utility bills can be reviewed

Evidence is assessed on a case by case basis. Thanks, Leah.
