Studying without Qualifactions?

I will studying Criminology at Ardent University starting February 2025 thanks to Omega Partners.

They offer a university pathway for individuals with no Qualifications but with work experience. With the ability to access student forming to help me fund my learning.

If else anyone is interested please let me know as they have spaces available for a handful more pupils!

Never heard of Ardent - do you mean Arden? As a prospective student I don't think it is your job to fill the course for them.

It doesn't seem like Omega Partners are a very good educational agent if they didn't manage to get you onto the course you would need for the career you want :frown:

It can seem that way to some people, for me I don’t have any qualifications so it was the best option for me

How much did you have to pay Omega Partners for their services?

It’s no cost at all, they work directly with a majority of the universities across London and Manchester to provide learning opportunities for people who usually get turned away.

Didn't they mention https://www.open.ac.uk/courses/psychology/degrees/bsc-forensic-psychology-q82 (or OUs natural science degrees)? Neither require a foundation year and both would be more suited to a forensics career?

Yes all the above was mentioned, however I chose the best option for me as I wanted a broad subject to study that can go into many differed job types in case my ideal role didn’t go to plan.

Also the roles they offer are dependent on the university’s courses available and the types of courses they are currently offering

Did they advise you that criminology is a broader subject with more career options than natural sciences?

No, my cousin studied criminology and recommended me to take the course with the options I had in front of me.

I'm afraid that from what you've said on this thread you've been extremely badly advised and now seem to be trying to encourage other people to follow your decisions :frown:

Are Omega paying you for the internship? Is it commission based?

No one needs to take advice if they don’t want to, if you look at the numbers of people turned away from uni due to lack of qualifications its very high. Just trying to offer help to those who wish to study. But if you take it that way guess there is no point trying to help anyone who wants to get a degree and develop themselves 🤷

do you have a source for that claim?
do you have a source for that claim?

Yeah if you type in google stats on uni declining students due to lack of qualifications a lot of stats and figures come up.
