applying to one university but 2 different courses

i want to apply to 2 similar courses pharmacy and pharmacology but at the same uni, is that allowed and will it impact the likelihood of me getting offers?
example of unis that offer both that i would want to potentially apply for 2 different courses

Suggest that you email them and ask them - and also ask if this would require a 2nd Personal Statement.
Bath also offers both subjects, and would accept a dual application with no disadvantage.

I've emailed a few unis already hopefully they get back to me soon.Since they are similar could i not just adjust my personal statement slightly?

Pharmacy is a very specific role - direct healthcare/NHS, usually public facing. Pharmacology is essentially research focussed. See - Choosing between Pharmacy and Pharmacology
This means that any PS trying to cover both would end up very muddled, and is not worth the risk of a multiple rejections. Thisis why its best to ask each Uni about a dual applications, and an alternative PS.

Its much safer to ask each Uni before you apply - you could be risking all your choices,
It’s allowed but it’s a really silly idea

how would all my choices be at risk

Why are you considering this instead of just applying to either pharmacy or pharmacology courses?

Because if you try to write a PS that covers both subjects, it will be obvious that you are not committed to either course / career - ie. you cannot write a convincing PS for Pharmacy without mentioning the word 'Pharmacy'.

Why can you not just send each Uni an email?
They wont mind - and they wont remember that you asked this.

i heard you aren’t allowed to apply for multiple courses at the same uni bcs they might just not give you an offer at all 😭 i wanna apply to 2 almost identical courses at a uni (one’s a 3-year degree, the other comes with a foundation year) but got told even that’s a terrible idea
It doesn’t even need to be clear from your PS. If you apply to a university for 2 courses then they will see that and know that you aren’t committed to either subject.

It’s a waste of a choice.

Ring them up today and ask if they automatically consider applicants for a foundation year entry if they don’t have the grades for year 1. Almost every university does this so you would be using 2 choices to do something automatically covered by 1.
