what sort of interview questions can someone expect for UCLAN vet med

Hi😄
I’m a second-year vet student at the University of Central Lancashire! While it’s hard to predict exactly what questions you might get, I found these links really helpful when I was preparing for my interviews:

https://www.vetschoolscouncil.ac.uk/applications/interviews/
https://www.medicmind.co.uk/medicine-ucas-guide/top-vet-interview-questions-you-should-be-prepared-to-answer/
https://blogs.ed.ac.uk/vetstudentlife/2020/11/30/interview-tips-a-students-perspective/

In general, the interview stations tend to cover the following areas:

Ethics: discussing moral or ethical issues related to veterinary medicine, like animal welfare or decision-making.

Personal Questions and Motivation: talking about why you want to become a vet, what inspired you, and your experiences so far. They might also ask how you’ve handled challenges or developed important qualities like resilience and teamwork.

Scenarios: thinking through hypothetical situations and explaining your approach.

Practical Skills or Problem-Solving: completing hands-on tasks or demonstrating how you think through and tackle challenges.

I hope this helps, and I wish you the best of luck with your interview! 🍀

👋 I hope you are doing well.
I'm currently in year 13 and I have done my UCLan interview for vet med 3 weeks ago, how long did it take for you to receive your offer. I'm quite nervous because I think I completely messed up some of it.
Thank you for your time

I've received an offer for biovet from the rvc, but have been rejected from 2 other vet schools. I really liked the vet school at UCLAN and it is my top uni yo go to, so I would really appreciate you sharing your interview experience and any idea as to whether I may receive an offer?

Hey anonymous!

It’s great to hear you did your interview, I hope it went well for you!

After your interview, it takes our teams a little while to go through them all and make offers so please don’t be disheartened if you don’t hear straight away! The teams will be working as quickly as possible to get the decisions out for everyone!

If you have any questions about life at the university in the mean time, please let me know!

Hi there,

Thank you for your message here and it's great to see that you are looking to study Veterinary Medicine with us. For our Veterinary Medicine (BVMS) programme, our admissions teams will first assess applications, which includes the personal statement and academic reference. If successful, applicants will then be invited for a Multiple Mini Interview (MMI), these are usually held between December and April. There is some useful information on how the MMI works here.

In terms of whether you will receive an offer, we wouldn't be able to advise on this but please be assured that if you have submitted your application before the deadline then our admissions team will be in touch with an update as soon as possible.

Do let me know if you have any questions at all 😊

Best wishes ^Sarah
