Hi, i have vet med liverpool interview. at school, some teachers did mini mock interviews with us and gave feedback. I will also practice some questions with friends and share improvements. I will revise a level content and be confident with personal statement. I'll also find practice qs and record my answer to listen back! I think it will be course related content and scenarios maybe?

Hey, thanks for your reply!, when you say course related content what do you mean..... it's 4 minutes per question with only 6 questions, I reckon scenarios will defo be in it as well, what type of questions are you practicing with friends

i don’t think they’ll test us on course related content bc we haven’t been taught any of that yet, i reckon it will be explaining what we would do in scenarios and hopefully something about work experience

They said on their initial email that they'd be testing empathy, problem solving and critical thinking so I think you're right that it'll be mainly scenarios or ethical dilemmas! I suppose there may be some anatomy-type questions that could test problem solving (like "What do you think this x-ray shows") but I don't think they'll be testing any academic knowledge, or anything about the personal statement since they don't read it.
I'm just preparing by practicing basically! And researching around some common ethical issues and challenges facing the profession.

Oh sorry - what I meant about course related content was a level content knowledge that could be applied to scenarios e.g. being asked about vaccines or immune response etc but at our current level!

Yes, as part of practice MMI, I had a section on interpreting data and graphs which I think Liverpool will do to assess our ability to break down what we can see. Even if they don’t read it, still know your PS by heart as they still have access to it and could ask about work experience etc. Also they potentially look over it briefly even though they don’t put any weight on it. For example if you wrote a PS that made no sense at all e.g. was written about a different course or didn’t write anything, I don’t think you would get an interview!

If you see my reply to the other person, that’s what I mean - basically our a level subject knowledge that could link to our course e.g. vaccines etc. I was shown a graph in a practice question which linked to the elastic limit in physics and was showing the force in the tendon of a horse back leg - linking to their evolution and flight response and how severe the injuries to a horses leg can be e.g. broken leg.

So knowledge that you already know but showing you know it and applying it in questions, data and scenarios.

There are lots of good links to practice questions online - some universities also have good question resources e.g. Cambridge.

liverpool do not read the personal statement, you are offered an interview based on your grades and work experience

but its good to know your PS as a way to mention all ur wex on the spot!

I went to the open day so I don’t they don’t read it or use it as part of the application process per what they told me. However, I don’t want to completely fully rely on that. I need to know my PS for other universities. It will be useful to know my PS as you say for work experience or if i could include it in my answers, but yes, I see what you mean as the PS won’t affect the questions as they are prerecorded and the same for everyone.

Hi, i am currently studying Biovet at Liverpool and also have an interview for Vet med, Liverpool prioritises ethical and holistic approaches towards cases, so I would suggest looking at these themes

Just Google vet med interview questions - there’s loads of sites with tips and practice questions. There’s also videos for practice on YouTube so just have a browse to see if any are useful.

Hey, I've just done it and obvs can't say anything about the questions. I can say though that the setup they have used is very clear and easy to follow and I found it not too stressful so all the best with yours!

what was the process like? because obviously ive heard that its 50 mins long but 6 questions that are 4 mins long, so are there breaks in between the questions? i know you cant tell us about the questions but as a whole do you think it was quite easy to prepare for (nothing too out there or difficult to respond to)?

oh excellent i was hoping there would be breaks. how does the practice question work? is it just to make sure you know how to work the setup?

Yeah basically! It just takes you through saying an answer and uploading it
