Just felt like a trip up question, but they didnt even allow me to talk about their other products and relate them to the ships, felt like an interrogation ngl

I talked as much as I could and I knew one of their main projects from prior research and we then moved on. I got interviewed by the head of early careers and a network engineer manager. Technical questions were very simple but I kept the convo going to show more knowledge.

I applied for network and that's based in naval unit so makes sense and location is new Malden or Portsmouth.

Right, yeah that's to be expected then

Yh, they started asking me about that yesterday and I was confused. But luckily the apprentice that was escorting me around the building was talking to me and we talked about the ships as he was working on them so I could answer a bit about it. But when I answered they kept asking follow up questions

Did it not mention what buisness unit you were applying to in the job description? BAE Systems has multiple buisness units. Naval, Maritime, air, space, subs and land.

That's good. The more you can talk about, the more they can list down to support you. If you managed to talk about something, like their new Type 26 or any of the other ships, you should be fine. Best of luck, at least it's over now haha so most of the stress is gone?

Yh I mentioned type 26 and where they are built and what they do. Just waiting for them to get back. All interviews will be complete by April 2nd but network engineer is gonna be done this week they said. They don't know if they will have two or one network position yet.

Sounds good. You should hopefully receive a call next week or the week after then. And don't be disheartened if you get on the reserve. I did too and then go moved up to offer like a week after!

No, all I know was that I could only book between Monday or Tuesday with 3 slots each day and I asked my escort how many people after me and he says two but was unsure for what position.

I still haven’t heard back from nuclear engineering at Barrow in Furness

Nuclear Engineering Degree Apprenticeship at Barrow have invited people to in person interviews already. They'll be going on until April 1st, where they will then deliberate who to choose for offers and reserves. The results will be given out around mid-April according to the interviewers

As someone who applied for a Grad Scheme at BAE in the same window (and didn't make it) I found it interesting that despite applying in a similar area (Test and Commissioning vs Nuclear Engineering) the questions were completely different for both, even the behavioural ones. I was unprepared for the technical questions for the grad scheme, made sure to revise a load of things, and the technical qs for the DA weren't on any of it 😂

Also the fact the Grad schemes interviewed you online only while the DA made you go in person for it - assuming that might be because of numbers?
