I wanna do Med but I just dropped math..

I just dropped math and took epq, and I really want to do medicine with bio, chem, and art. I was debating if I should drop art even though its my best subject, as art is very rigorous and tiring, and I was getting like 20-30% with math and failing all my other subjects, so I wasn't sure what I was doing was right, as the teachers in my school clearly want me to drop a subject that's not art, but all my friends, classmates, and family were urging me to not drop math as nobody does that. I am so confused and stress rn

If you want to do medicine, you need Maths. I think you need to ask yourself how much you want to do medicine. If you want to do medicine so bad then you're gonna really have to work on your Maths and drop art. If you're doing excellent in art I think you should consider it at university. Doing something you're good at is really important nowadays. Hope this helps.

Oh ok. People told me that it'll help to do Maths if I wanted to do medicine.

Maths isn't necessary unless you're applying to Cambridge where you need Bio/Chem/Maths or Bio/Chem/Physics.

For everywhere else you will need Biology and Chemistry, or Chemistry and one other science subject, or Biology and one other science subject. So Biology, Chemistry, and Art will work fine! (Unless you want to apply to Cambridge)

It's recommended you take a 3rd subject with Bio and Chem that you enjoy and feel you can achieve an A or A* in. If that's Maths then great, but equally Art will work well! Just be prepared to potentially justify why you took Art and the link it has to Medicine at interview.

No universities other than Cambridge will favour 3 STEM A Level candidates over 2 STEM A Level candidates.
Most important is getting good predicted grades, having good GCSEs and perhaps most crucially, a good UCAT.
As above maths isn't required by any medical school, and a third STEM subject isn't even preferred by or necessary to be competitive at any medical school except Cambridge (where realistically students without a third STEM subject at A-level aren't typically able to score well enough in the interview to get an offer).

For other medical schools, UCLan and Liverpool just require the third subject be "academic" (so may not accept art), but all others have no specific preferences or requirements and accept any third A-level subject provided it doesn't duplicate your first two in some manner (e.g. biology and human biology).

So its fine

my friends did bio chemistry and Spanish, they're all studying medicine now 😊 so if you really don't want to do maths, you can still do med
