i flopped year 13 winter mocks

I'll admit i didnt work as hard as i shouldve, and i flopped my year 13 mocks, im predicted a BCE, and my goal is preferably ABC. i had some mental health issues and days off but since then I've really stepped up and worked harder, I don't think its going to show up much in lessons but is it still possible to reach my goal if I've gone from working at 20% to 80%? i still have until may. i know my predicted grades cant change, but at the end of the day its the actual grade that counts, so am I still screwed?

It is 100% possible! You have until May and with pure determination you can definitely get amazing grades at the end. Sure, predicted grades matter but is what you get at the end of the 2 years that really matters. Good luck!

This is literally me. I'm not completely cooked but I am second guessing whether I'll get into my top RG choice.

I'm predicated a distinction, distinction but I literally got an E for my history and I'm predicated a C so it definitely brings down my UCAS points. I still meet the grade requirements but the average UCAS points for people that get into my course is like 139 and I have 128 so idkkk thats 11 whole points down.

I wouldn't be THAT bummed if I didn't make it into my 1st choice as I like my 2nd but idkkk Ig im just preparing myself in case things dont go to plan, atleast I have a backup plan incase

This is a generic answer but maybe get a tutor? That's what im doing for history. Dw theres still hope. we have about half a year left till its a-levels

If ur predicteds are too low for the uni u want, u should take a gap year and apply next year with achieved grades. Just focus on doing revision now so u can get better grades in the actual exams

This is an excellent idea!

Although, I also would like to say that clearing is also an option often for many universities, which is wholly based on your achieved grades after results day. It is always worth calling up your preferred universities up after getting your results on the day, or even after the day, if you want to take some time in making this very important decision.

I personally took a gap year to consider all my options, instead of going straight into higher education, so either way - I would encourage considering this to make the best decision for you.

There are many avenues and options worth discussing available to you regardless, and I wish you all the best in reaching the best choice for you! 😁
