Failed my driving test

Failed my driving test 1st time with 1 major fault yikes oh misty…

Pulled out in front of a car at a junction and slowed it down because a car in front of them indicated and turned so I went but I was abit slow n slowed the car behind me down
Also is it normal to have such a rude horrible examiner or not
Be literally made me nervous before we got in the car
Told me to do the flipping bonnet I’m fuming

rude examiners do not fail everybody. you just have to focus on the other drivers and the road. you will not be penalized for taking a little extra time before committing to a manoeuvre.

I think test examiners can be a bit of an abrupt change for some learners. You build a rapport with your instructor and between securing further customers and putting learners at ease, it's v much in their interests to be friendly and approachable, but then you're often confronted with something v different from the examiner, who is all business and clipboards and keeps a bit of emotional distance from you.

What did you think he was angry about?

Angry examiner he just seems the type of person to be angry I was scared of him the minute he walked into the waiting room… he had a go at me cos he told me to do the reverse bay park at the test centre first thing we got in the car so I did then he had a go cos I ‘parked in the tests only” spaces which he didn’t specify where… also heard horror stories from others about him

It a classic error that even experienced drivers make, assuming that a vehicle turning left protects their path out. Don’t worry, just learn from it. As to rude examiners, it’s part of the job selection criteria

Hey there, sorry to hear about your experience! Don’t feel too discouraged about failing your test the first time—it happens to so many people, and honestly, it's all part of the learning process. It sounds like you understand where things went wrong at the junction, and that’s a great sign. Recognizing those moments is what helps you get it right next time.
As for the examiner, I totally get how frustrating it can be to deal with someone who makes you feel more nervous. Some examiners can come off as a bit stern, but try not to take it personally. They're just focused on ensuring everything is done by the book. That said, if their attitude genuinely felt inappropriate, you might want to share your feedback with the testing center.
In the meantime, you might find this article helpful: https://www.guidelinesdrivingschool.com/blog/most-common-driving-test-fails-what-to-watch-out-for/. It breaks down common mistakes and gives tips on how to avoid them in the future.
Don’t give up—you’ve got this! Just take it as a learning curve and keep practicing. 😊

I failed mine today and have the biggest headache from crying all day. My fault though i did 78 on the dual carriageway which is insane and i dont know how that even happened, since its never happened to me before and my second major was turning right and their was an oncoming car. Sounds silly, i know. But i can't help feeling like an absolute mug and failure. Everyone around me had so much faith in me, including my instructor. I went from being so confident, to an absolute wreck.

I had an absolute prat of an examiner, was halfway through green traffic lights when they went amber - normally you’d keep going because your front wheel were over the line when green right? apparently not, he slammed the brakes on - he told my instructor after that if I’d done that myself I would have also failed! how lovely
then on a traffic light roundabout, my lane split into two, left one was building a queue so i indicated right and checked mirrors - ah a gap, so i go, traffic lights change and a car comes speeding right up and examiner grabs the wheel and yanks it back!
other than that I had 2 minors.
