Gene Editing EPQ

Im doing my EPQ into 'To what extent does gene editing in animals become unethical' and I need to conduct primary research by asking Vets questions about this topic. Any ideas of questions I can ask/ topics I can talk about?

I think getting a balanced view on both sides is it ethical or unethical would be good. Some questions I would consider are:

1.

What diseases have been linked to genetic selection (often animals are not gene edited they are genetically selected for a certain trait - gene editing tends to happen in laboratory settings e.g. lab mice/ drosophila flies etc).

2.

How does genetic selection benefit the animal?

3.

How does genetic selection benefit people?

4.

Who are the stakeholders involved in genetic selection of animals, what are their views, and why might they hold their views?

5.

Ask vets their opinion on whether genetic selection is unethical/ the extent and why?

Hope those help as starting points
