Transferring from LMU to UAL

Hiya! I’m currently a first year student at London Metropolitan University studying BA Textiles, I’m not enjoying it as much as I hoped and I don’t feel challenged at all, I was thinking to transfer to UAL CSM or Chelsea to either study BA textiles design or fine art.

I was wondering if ual will accept transfers, either me moving straight to first year now or completing my first year at LMU and then moving there for second year? I really don’t want to retake a year since I’ve already done that during college.

Any help or info will be greatly appreciated 🩷

Hey there, a UAL student here! If I'm not mistaken, there's usually a transfer period (within the first month of the term) within UAL transfers, for example a photography student trying to transfer to a different course or campus within UAL. However I'm not sure if this applies to student transferring from other university to UAL. Also, from what I know, even transfer are rarely accepted within UAL because it is very competitive. If you're considering to transfer, I would suggest to finish year 1 at LMU (Level 4) and reapplying to join UAL in year 2 (Level 5).
Hi, I know personally someone who has managed to even transfer onto a third year, although it was an exception and quite a journey as it usually not doable.

I would recommend to get in touch as quickly as you can so you can possibly join for the second year. According to UAL Website external transfer students are eligible to apply after grades from first term/semester are published. Be aware that you will need to have an interview and your portfolio evaluated.
