SCITT or Uni led PGCE

Hi,
I have received an offer from two universities to do Primary PGCE with QTS and I was wondering whether to just go for one of them or attend my interview next week for a SCITT (also PGCE with QTS) which is very local to me. I just wanted to find out which is better as right now I am enjoying the university life but have heard the SCITT is better in a sense of placements??

Hope you can help.

Congratulations on two offers!!
I was in the same dilema as you, but ultimately decided on SCITT. For me it was mostly a question of travel, the Uni provider told me there may be a 90 minute travel each way for my placements, whereas the SCITT placements are both 10 minutes from my house.

Is your SCITT interview in the placement school? Mine was and I got such a good feeling from the school and staff there, my decision was made for me.
Ultimately, both courses will get you the same outcome! However I would still attend the interview, you can ask the interviewer the benefits of SCITT over a Uni based course, and make a more informed decision.

Good luck whichever route you end up taking!

Thank you!!
I have checked the SCITT placements online and they are all very local but the one of the Universities mentioned that more than 50% of the students travel less than 30 minutes to get their placements, so I am still debating it. But I will attend the interview next week and see what kind of vibes I am getting and will ask them that question.
