History at York Uni

I'm considering studying history at York but the course structure I've seen on their website is a little confusing, it'll say that something is optional or that there are a lot of options and list like. 4. That's not a lot of examples especially when a lot of the phrasing implies it's only those 4.
Anyway, if someone has/is studying history at York and knows more about it's course structure, or has been to an open day (I am a sickly Victorian child living in the south and haven't had the chance) I would appreciate any and all info!!
Thank you
I went to the open day and I can't remember too much but I can confirm they have some more modules than what they put on the website

Hi!

The examples listed on the web page are not exhaustive and that there may be other modules offered. We try to keep option modules as fresh as possible, so some may take up to the start of the semester to be finalised, so they might not always appear on the website.

If you look at Years 2 and 3 of the course content on this web page you'll hopefully be able to see a larger range of option modules, allowing you to really specialise in your 2nd and 3rd years. Courses tend to be more prescriptive in year one so that students can get a good knowledge base if that makes sense?

I hope this helps!

Hazel 🙂
