Could i still get a 5 if i fail my Foundation French Speaking

So I just did my foundation French speaking mock today and im not even joking I did really bad I didn’t use the past tense properly my réponses were short and repetitive and I took to long to reply and my teacher even said to me when I was done that I didn’t do that good. However whenever we do In class mocks including everything but speaking I get a 5 everytime so I’m just wondering if I fail my speaking and do good on the other sections is it possible for me to get a 5 or will my grade lower to a 4??? Please could someone who also did bad on their speaking tell me how much it affected their grade 💕
If you look at the grade boundaries, it is possible to get a 5 on foundation french without getting any marks in the speaking. The maximum number of marks for aqa is 240 and in 2024 you needed 159 for a 5- as speaking is worth 60 marks then even if you lost all the marks for that paper you could still get 180 marks (hence a 5) across the other papers. However, this shouldn’t be an incentive to ignore one component and focus on the others in the hope the one you didnt prep for properly doesn’t matter too much- you’ve recognised that your french speaking needs work and now you can improve ready for your real exam 🙂

Best of luck with it! Remember that practicing speaking aloud and with others will help with your confidence- if you have a friend in your class who you can converse with im sure that would help.
