Thanks for the info 🙂 couple questions I had: how was the group task? Obviously not expecting you to disclose the exact details, but interested in anything can share. Also, in regards to subject specific knowledge, did they actually test your knowledge of biology specifically (as opposed to general teaching-related questions)? You said to prepare for topics we find interesting, so is it best just to prepare some stuff that we're interested in, or to be prepared for potential questions around any of the core areas of the curriculum (i.e. I'm applying for maths, should I just recap my main interests such as linear algebra, or should I be prepared for questions on calculus, trig, algebra, etc.)? Thanks so much 😊

Hey, I applied for Maths too.

Once the groups were finished you had to find your mentor. She gave me a time for 10:10. The interview was fairly straightforward, why do you want to do teaching, why maths, tell me about a teacher you had etc etc.
She then wrote a multiplication sum on the board and told me to solve it. I did then she asked other ways it could be done, for example, breaking it up into easier numbers.
I was there from about 9-10:45, the interviewers were so lovely and understanding so just be yourself and relax!

Hello! I had an interview for the PGDE secondary teaching for modern studies a few days ago at Strathclyde university

Hi! I have an interview for Strathclyde for Modern Studies too, could you please share any advice? They said a five minute presentation, are we allowed notes, do we prepare a powerpoint? Any tips on questions? Thanks so much!

Got an offer from Strathclyde which is very exciting, at the moment this is my top choice. I'm hoping to hear back from Glasgow soon, but I've not heard anything from them and am getting worried!

I applied to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Strathclyde and Dundee for Primary! I got an interview offer from Dundee but nothing from the others yet. To be fair, I submitted my application on the 27th of Jan. Anyone else had an interview at Dundee and if so how did it go?

I am in the exact same position, applied on exactly that date and have an interview for Dundee. It was my 5th choice though so praying for some news from Edinburgh or Strathclyde this week.

I've just been invited to interview at Napier for PGDE Secondary Physics. The email says a 5 min presentation on a topic of your choice followed by questions (they give some examples). Says it'll be 30 minutes.

Hi there,
I can't remember the questions word for word, but roughly as follows:
1. What things did you take away from the introduction to the course video (sent via the email)?
2. What is the role of the teacher outside of teaching the curriculum?
3. What experience/ skills do you have that you can bring to the primary education setting.
4. What social, economic and technological factors do children face and how can we support them?
5. Scenario based question.
I spoke a lot and had to be cut off at times as it is such a quick interview! My interviewer was lovely, but I was soooo nervous. I got an offer one week after my interview.

Hi this is so random but I noticed a lot of people saying they had to do a 5 minute presentation but on my invite it just said an individual interview on why you want to be a teacher nothing about a presentation. Did you have to do a presentation? I'm stressed incase the individual interview means a presentation but it doesn't say anything about it.

Thank you so much )

Hey, Congrats on your offer for Glasgow!

I had an interview with Strathclyde last week and received my offer today! So exciting! My interview was great, pretty standard questions (someone has posted them before on here - page 2, reply 34), and the interviewer was so lovely!

What was your experience like with Glasgow?

Amazing , Glasgow interview is really easy and straightforward, exactly as they describe it in the email. That being said, I found it a little procedural and wasn't super inspired by the interview. Even the fact it was online was a bit dissapointing to me. Don't get me wrong, would be totally happy going there, but just waiting to see if I find Strathclyde/Edinburgh any more engaging as I'm hoping to go somewhere I really make a connection with the staff/course. How did you find Strathclyde?

I'm also still waiting. I submitted in January though so I guess I was expecting to wait at least 4 weeks to hear back.
