University essays

Im currently writing a business essay and was wondering whether I had to find sources for everything? Even the knowledge I already know. I studied business at GCSE and A-Level so already have prior understanding but was unsure as to whether I had to find a source to back it up with. Can anyone help or give me some advice
Thank you 🙂
I'm not at university yet but I can remember from doing the IB that if it is common sense/well known, then no. Do you have an example?

Yeah, it depends on what you’re writing. If it’s general business knowledge (like the concept of supply and demand or the importance of marketing strategies), you usually don’t need a source. But if you're referencing specific theories (like Porter’s Five Forces or Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs), statistics, or ideas from a particular book or study, you should definitely cite a source. You can find good sources in academic journals, textbooks, and reliable business websites like Harvard Business Review or government reports.
