Set clear, small goals - would you like to revise particular topics, go over a particular lecture, or get to a certain section on your latest assignment by the time term starts again? Make sure your study goals are specific, achievable and time-bound, and reward yourself for completing these milestones.
2.
Make yourself a digital schedule - I used my Google calendar to set myself 1-2 study goals per day (e.g. revise social psychology lecture & draft report results section), then swipe right to tick them off when they were done. It really helped me to plan out what I wanted to do and stay focussed on it.
3.
Avoid procrastination - if you need to get something done, perhaps leave your mobile in a separate room for an hour or two so you can tune into your work.
4.
Little and often - the Pomodoro technique involves studying in short bursts of eg half an hour, then having a short break to refresh your head. This might help you stay productive and prevent drain and burnout.
5.
Take time to recharge - have at least 1-2 days during the inter semester break which are for you, to do something to relax, rest and recharge - take a walk, go swimming, see friends, go to the cinema or on a shopping trip.

I think that this is different over different holidays, but over Christmas I like to make sure that I have plenty of time off over Christmas and New Year. I like to try and get lots of work done in the run up to Christmas, but make sure that I still have plenty of time off to enjoy Christmas and spend time with my family as I find that this motivates me and makes me more likely to do my work after Christmas.

I think that a plan is the key to ensuring that you get all of your work done over Christmas. I like to plan the weeks that I have up and write lists of all of the work that I have to do so that I know that I will be able to get all of it done. I also like to colour this so that different modules are different colours as this helps me to distinguish each task.

I think that getting out of the house to do work is really helpful for me. You can sometimes use the Uni libraries in your home town, even if it isn't your uni so have a look into this as this is sometimes quite helpful for staying motivated for getting work done.

Keeping a routine also helps me. I like to make sure I am not sleeping in too late as this makes me feel a lot less productive and if I get up early I can get work done and then still have time to do fun things after.
