Cambridge Chemical Engineering and Biotech Interviews

Hey I'm a y13 student who applied and got an interview invite for magdalene chem eng and biotech. Since its a new course that only started last year there seems to be very little info online about what the interviews are like. For any seniors who have been though it or know anything about chem eng interviews at cambridge I would really appreciate any info about them! For example, are the interviews split by math + chem? how much do they ask about the ps? what kind of technical questions are they testing?

any help is appreciated

hi! Have you had your interview now? I'm just worrying about how much to revise since I've left it really late

hiii:wink:) i had my interview today. i’d say that it’s split between chem eng scenario questions and more familiar maths and chem questions. i personally did so much revision and it ended up basically not helping at all as they barely assessed my actual knowledge it was mainly the scope of my thinking and how well i dealt with the unfamiliar context of questions. they didn’t ask me ANYTHING about my ps. just straight up jumped into the question. so still know ur ps in case but be prepared for a question to just be thrown at you. hope this helps

Thanks!! So not at all Are the questions the kind that you can get to an answer in the time, or more just showing how you'd do it - I'm really worried about running out of time - 20 minutes is so short! I hope it all goes well for you

20 minutes is definitely short lol. but i do think you should aim to answer more than 2 questions to stand out, in general you should reach a point in the question where you can actually get an answer. especially if maths is involved. sorry for replying so late i pray all goes well for you too !!
