KCL- Sociology, Politics and Religion

Just sent of my UCAS application and KCL is my top choice for studying sociology, does anyone know how popular this course is and the typical grades of students who get offers? I know KCL takes ages to reply so just curious

Hi! I’m in year 12, and I really don’t know what I want to study at uni, but I love sociology. My alevels are sociology, history and English literature. Could you please give me your opinion on whether you think I should study sociology at uni? What career are you looking to have in the future? One of my main problems that I’ve noticed is that there aren’t many careers you can get from a sociology degree.
Thank you so much for the advice

Ah, I'm also doing history, almost did English lit too. The thing about a sociology degree is there are actually a lot of pathways it can take you down, which is a big reason I picked it, I am probably looking to going into some form of charity work with it, or possibly journalism, but sociology and a degree has many prospects and is a way of being able to take on lots of career choices, sociology is often done with joint honours which is what im applying for so definitely have a look at your options with some of those courses too, to give you the best chance of going into a career you're interested in

Hi. I just received an offer for this course and I'm predicted A*AA, although if you meet the standard requirement of AAB you will have just as much of a chance.

Hi. My personal statement was 80% supra-curricular (books, wider reading, religion and politics etc) and 20% extra-curricular (hobbies etc). No EPQ. No volunteering apart from local organising. As long as you demonstrate interest in the course and demonstrate why it fascinates you - you will smash it.

Just received an offer back from KCL for this course!! Are you putting them down as your firm, or going to any of the offer holder days?

I've firmed it too, n o idea when they're gonna hand out offer holder days, budgeting for London is gonna be scary but I guess it's a bigger loan at least. What accompanied are you looking at?

Same here, it's said to be one of the more social acoms so keen to be near student events and stuff, its on the guys campus right? I have a mate at KCL who says the commute from that campus to the strand where our degree would mostly take place isn't bad so probably will do that, have you signed up to the accommodation portal yet
