What happens if you get 2+ unconditional offers for Medicine in Scotalnd?

I’m a parent who is learning how the whole system works.
Just trying to get information on what would happen if my son got more than 1 offer for medicine?
It would depending on his Advanced higher grades that he would find out the results in August 2025.

Can someone guide me.
When do you need to accept or reject an offer at medical school?
What if some Uni’s ask for a higher grade at Advanced Higher levels?

Are all offers open until the exam results are posted?
What happens to the remaining places where a Uni’s offer isn’t taken?
Thanks in advance.

Hi

When do you need to accept or reject an offer at medical school?
You can firm and insure as soon as you get all your decisions (4/5 courses you applied to)
if you still didn't get an decision then you have until the ucas deadline ( looks like this year is 4 Jun https://www.ucas.com/advisers/help-and-training/key-dates-timeline#2025)

What if some Uni’s ask for a higher grade at Advanced Higher levels?
most people will firm the higher grade and insure the lower, but it also depends if you love your insurance more then you just firm it, As for example if you firm (Astar AA ) and insure (AAA) then you get Astar AA in your end exam then you will automatically get your firm ( so make sure you love it ) but if you get AAA then you get your insurance

Are all offers open until the exam results are posted?

no offers are not open until the results , as soon as you firm and insure the two places then it means you declined the other 3 offers ( if you have any more than 2)

What happens to the remaining places where a Uni’s offer isn’t taken?

when people firm and insure , (the other 3 courses that you didn't chose )the univs will be told that these people rejected their offer, so the univs will give it up to other people (from waiting list or quickly interview more people)

I hope this helps.
