First semester of law

I am a first year studying Scots Law at the University of Strathclyde. I am doing okay at the moment as i’m getting 55% - 60% in my assignments. However, everyone seems to be doing better than me and I am worried that this will follow up in the future and I will graduate with a 2:2. I know you can get a job in law with a 2:2, however it is very difficult. I want to improve this and I am trying to improve this but I have exams coming up which i’m scared for as I don’t want to fail.

Hey @Deathologist150 🙂 If you're concerned about your grades and would like to boost them I'd encourage you to ask your tutors to see if you can discuss their feedback on your assignments? You'll be able to access some feedback on Pegasus, but I don't think there's any harm in asking to go over this in person with them too. Listening and acting on feedback is a key way to improve.

Some other things you could try are working closely with your peers, setting up something like study groups where you can meet in the library and bounce ideas off each other. You might find going over the material with other course mates useful and pick things up in a more relaxed environment with them.

A worry shared is a worry halved - start to chat with staff and other students to see if working alongside them can boost your confidence a bit 🙂 Being in first year means you've still got lots of time to work on your goals too!
