Which should I choose for a Film major, Westminster or UAL (undergraduate)?

My plan is to stay in the UK and work after graduation, but I'm unsure which university UK film companies prefer when hiring graduates. Based on rankings, UAL seems to be the better choice, but I've heard that Westminster offers many internship opportunities.
Hi!

It's good to hear you want to work in the UK's film industry, and you have some fantastic choices on your list!

You're right that Westminster has some great internship opportunities. In recent years, our Film BA students have secured experience at Industrial Light and Magic and Working Title Films, and on the productions of King Arthur, Jack Ryan, Bohemian Rhapsody and Mary Queen of Scots.

We also have extensive industry connections. Our students recently had a visit from the editor of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and the cinematographer for The Greatest Showman, Atonement, Anna Karenina, We Need to Talk About Kevin and Godzilla.

Add all this to our industry-standard facilities and Westminster is a pretty good place to kickstart your career in the Film industry!

Hello,
I am a student rep from UAL so I can help with your question.

UAL, does rank quite high in creative degrees and is well recognisable in industry. We do also offer internship opportunities during your time with us. Some courses offer a placement term which is around 6-8 weeks, while others can be up to a year. You can check our website to find out the duration of internships for your chosen course.

Moreover, as long as you learn all the necessary skills and obtain the required qualifications, you should leave equipped and ready for a job in your chosen career.

I wish you the best with your application.
