journalism at bournemouth or nottingham trent

hi, i’m going to uni next year to study either multimedia journalism (bournemouth) or broadcast journalism (nottingham trent) but i’m undecided on where to go.
i’ve visited them both and thought they were both great so im really 50/50.
bournemouth is closer to london so im assuming it has better industry connections? but its also a smaller town whereas nottingham is a city.
i know there is a good nightlife/a lot of things to do in Nottingham but im not sure what its like in Bournemouth, so i was wondering which course and uni i would benefit from the most??
Hello,

It is great to hear you're considering the BA (Hons) Multimedia Journalism course at Bournemouth Uni.

You're right, Bournemouth is fairly close to London, so it is a quick journey, you can either take the train which is about 2 hours, or right next to Bournemouth's train station is the national express stop, so you can also take the coach to London Victoria, which is usually quite cheap, if you book in advance. As you mentioned industry connections, BU has a dedicated team called CareersBU, so if you would like any career support whilst studying with us, you can certainly contact them.
Although Bournemouth is a smaller town, it does have some of the nicest beaches in the UK, that you cannot beat and it is a thriving hub for a number of industries including the creative, financial and tourism sectors. Bournemouth offers the hustle and bustle of a vibrant town combined with a life by the sea.
BU also has a variety of clubs and societies that you can join, there is ResLifeBU, which is available to students living in BU accommodation and the Bournemouth area does offer some great live music venues and nightlife!
I hope this information helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to contact us again and good luck with your application!

I’m hoping to start my foundation year in sep at Bournemouth as I went there for an open day and the site was amazing, staff were very informed and friendly. Also it recently been built and with podcast area being renovated when I attended.

I live in bournemouth and i’m leaving for nottingham I would say it depends what kind of person you are. Bournemouth is quite small and the nightlife is ok. there r 2 spoons which r big and good but the clubs are what u make it 🤣 I would say its a slower paced environment than being in a city. The beach is a plus i guess but being real when u move here for uni u wont care about being near the sea after 1 day
