saturday job

so im currently searching for a saturday job and was wondering what major stores and retail companies are hiring at the moment just to work on a saturday. my dad and I are going to go to tgf pizza tomorrow to see if theyre hiring. i hope i get a job there as my dad's friend is working at the same place so at least ill know someone. im hoping to work there for like 4/5 hours from 5pm to 9pm/10pm. im 16 and in year 12 so i can legally work there. bare in mind that i have a physical disability so i wont be able to work jobs that involve a lot of physical labour like cleaning or doing house work.

Hi,
I hope you are well! 🙂

I thought I'd hop on here as there's lots of seasonal roles that supermarkets, such as Tesco's, M & S, and retail companies, such as Primark, offer over the Christmas period- and sometimes beyond if they are able to keep you! Going straight to their websites is a good idea to see what opportunities they have available! I worked at New Look when I was 16, so checking out retailers like this would be a good idea! - my retail job was not too physically demanding, and I have a condition which can affect my ability to perform physically demanding tasks, so retail might be an option for you.

I hope this helps! 😊
Best of luck with your applications!😊

thank you. i went to tgf pizza today with my dad and they said that they're not hiring until after the new year. furthermore, im only looking for a saturday job and not a seasonal job as those are temporary and id like a more permanent job whilst im in sixth form. retail is probably my best bet since its not as physically demanding and i could just sit down. my best bet is to go to tgf pizza after the new year and try to get a job there.

Hi,
No worries! 😊
Yes I agree, seasonal work can be great for earning some extra pennies over Christmas, but not so great if you're looking for something more permanent. It might be worth checking sites like indeed to see if there are any non-seasonal retail roles going in the new year for example, but yes, checking again at the pizza place in the new year sounds like a good plan!

Good luck with your applications!😊

Best wishes,
Josie

We are manufacturer of e-juice in China. Do you know sth about the vaping industry? We have a schedule to recruit some part-time promoters in local, but we do not have a detailed plan.

When you apply for jobs look through the job description and see what hours they are offering for a particular position.

I know boots give you a opportunity to tick options on what hours you want to work per day and what day you want to work.... Apply via there own company websites and do a online profile about yourself and then search for local job positions suitable for you, and if successful you'll have to probably do a online assessment regarding things about the work involved, then you will be offered a interview if successful with the online assignment.

Now beaware of the job description stating you need to be 18 ( majority of retailers have this) but don't let this put you off because you are still able to apply for jobs with the retailer but you wouldn't be able to do anything that involves over 18 due to restrictions.

Declare any health issues in your application and if you get a interview just remind them about it. They do employ people with certain disabilities as long as you are capable of doing the work required.
Best to start applying for a retailer job around the 6th January onwards.

Good luck with things.

Best not try recruiting 16 year olds for UK age restricted products.
