Uni course

hey guys, so Im hopefully applying to University soon, however I'm having doubts about the course i have chosen. Ive chosen Pharmacy, but I dont know deep down if thats what I want to become when Im older. I originally wanted to do Medicine, but I also had doubts about that and i also did not take the ucat over the Summer. The way I see it is I should just apply and then depending on my grades at the end of the year see what I should do and maybe take a gap year and apply for medicine later. I just dont really want to take a gap year as I have a fear of missing out, especially as all my friends are going to Uni. Please can I have some advice!

If you want to apply to medicine, there is no point in doing anything else. You will have to take a gap year if you want to reapply, but how big is one year in your life? A lot shorter than the at least 5 years you will spend at uni doing something you enjoy.
You must remember that the UCAT is no piece of cake and you will need to start studying around about 2 months before you take it to ensure you do not have to take another gap year.
Good luck with whatever you decide, I'm sure you'll make the right choice!

Hi @shhh1234567

I was in a slightly similar situation of not being 100% sure about what course I wanted to do, however it was with different subjects. I ended up taking a gap year and am really glad that I did. A lot of my friends went to uni, however I did not really feel like I was missing out as I kept myself busy and knew that I would likely be at university the year after my gap year.
It is a big decision to make and so is important that you carefully consider all of your options.

Hope that helps!
Sophie.
